Écopôle Val d’Allier

Centred around former gravel pits, major ecological works carried out in conjunction with the LPO Auvergne (a regional bird-protection association) have made it possible to encourage the reintroduction of biodiversity on this former industrial site. This site is emblematic of green transformation in the region and aims to become an educational centre combining human activities with environmental protection. Located on a migratory route, it’s possible to observe over 227 species of birds here, as well as all manner of reptiles and amphibians, plus very varied flora.
